About the Project
So simple a beginning: the Origin of Species at 150 years is an experimental collaboration (using a blog-like format) between academics and science writers with the goal of producing a set of commentaries on each of the chapters in Charles Darwin’s landmark 1859 book.
The primary author and organizer is Tom Levenson. Read his welcoming post here. For information about Tom and the other contributors, see the Authors page.
Generous support for this project has been provided by the Graduate Program in Science Writing at MIT, the MIT Program in Writing and Humanistic Studies, the MIT’s School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, and that schools dean, Deborah Fitzgerald.
The site can be accessed through either http://sosimpleabeginning.com or http://bloggingdarwin.com. Take your pick.
The web design and technical back-end is handled by Alex Wellerstein. For more information about the design/technical side of this site, click here.
